About CBMC Tri-County
What is CBMC? Most men are trying to live their lives independent of
God. CBMC Members are men committed to seizing opportunities in their
sphere of influence to PRESENT Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord
to business and professional men, and DEVELOP Christian business and professional
men to carry out the Great Commission.
Our Strategy: Over the years, CBMC
has developed a strategy that works. First we PRAY for
non-Christians, then through OUTREACH, we share the Best
News in life, and FOLLOW--THRU to help them know and
grow in Christ. STEWARDSHIP of time, talent, and treasure,
and the synergism of a TEAM, coordinated by LEADERSHIP enables
us to operate more effective together then we can alone.
It is a ministry to both business and professional men throughout the
world. CBMC committees meet weekly; usually during a breakfast, lunch
or dinner meeting for both prayer and Bible Study. Monthly or at least
quarterly each committee provides a speaker to come and to share with
invited guests what has made them successful in life. CBMC also offers
a GREAT Bible Study entitled "Operation Timothy",
"OT" and is used in one-on-one settings, group studies, husband and
wife studies, family studies and has proven track record over the years. "OT"
has recently been revised and updated. Buggs says: "This is the best
Bible Study from beginning to end I've ever seen, and this newly revised
edition is awesome." Leave me a

CBMC is . . . Devoted to Christ
"...He who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for
apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
Devotion to Christ begins with a devotion to prayer that Christ might
live through me. That I might be fully aligned with Christ should be my
greatest desire. It is out of this intimacy that God begins to work effectively
through me. "Search me O God, and know my heart; try me and know
my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way I me, and lead
me in the everlasting way" (Psalm 139:23-24).
Devoted to the Gospel
"And you will bear witnesses also, because you have been
with Me from the beginning"
(John 15:27).
"Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for
them is for their salvation" (Romans 10:1).
Devoted to One Another
"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for
his friend" (John 15:13).
We are not called into a relationship with Christ to be
isolated from others. God calls us to love one another. This love is the foundation
of a true community and is a means of ministering to the hurts and pain of
life. We are broken people helping broken people. We must pray for others.
". . . The Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
who comforts us in all our afflictions so that we may be able to comfort those
who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted
by God" (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Devoted to Prayer
"Call to me, and I will answer you and I will tell you great
and mighty things, which you do not know" ( Jeremiah 33:3).
As business and professional men, we see that our unique
sphere of influence is with fellow businessmen of the marketplace. God has
called us to be a light to these very people where they work and live. This
influence begins with prayer. Oswald Chambers said, "Prayer is not as
much to get answers from God, as it is to align us with God. Prayer changes
men. Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work."
CBMC has been uniquely committed to maintaining a
balance of being devoted to Christ, to one another, and to the gospel
- introducing others to Christ. Our prayer must have this same balance.
Answered prayer is seeing God at work! "What we have seen and heard
we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and
indeed, our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ"
(1 John 1:3).
